Winnipeg, Manitoba, February 20, 2012 — The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today confirmed the removal of Clato Mabior to South Sudan on February 15, 2012.
Mabior was ordered deported in 2010 for several criminal convictions, including aggravated sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. He completed his criminal sentence in December 2010, then remained in CBSA custody until his removal from Canada.
The ability to remove dangerous people is vital to protecting the safety and security of Canada. Foreign nationals who pose a threat to Canadians are not welcome in Canada. The CBSA works diligently to enforce removal orders against foreign nationals who have been convicted of serious crimes.
