Over 25 kilos of cocaine seized at Pearson Airport

Mississauga, Ontario, March 31, 2006 - The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today that its officers at Pearson International Airport seized more than 25 kilos of cocaine worth over $3 million.

On March 25, 2006, during an examination of a cargo shipment, CBSA officers at Pearson International Airport Commercial Operations discovered over 20 cocaine bricks individually wrapped in plastic.

"This seizure is an excellent example of the outstanding work done by CBSA officers," said Gerry Roussel, Director of Commercial Operations. "Stopping smuggling of illegal drugs at our borders plays a big part in making our communities safer."

The drugs were turned over to the RCMP.
